Graphic Designer & Volunteer
About
Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) is dedicated to serving others, through their services and programs, such as fostering, counseling, advocacy center, therapy and adoption. I am now in my third year as a freelance designer and Wish volunteer/committee member CHS of the Big Bend Area, based in Tallahassee, Florida. In summer 2018, I began freelance designing for CHS and became inspired by the amazing work they do for the community. The Wish Committee put on the annual Wish fundraiser event to raise funds for CHS and to support their services.
Wish
This year will be the 10th annual Wish fundraiser and will feature live music, local culinary favorites and a silent auction. The event’s contributions, sponsorships and donations go directly to empowering Tallahassee’s children and families through the CHS programs and services.
Now in my third year as a Wish volunteer, I and my other committee members are responsible for contacting potential donors and sponsors, gathering auction items and assisting in the implementation and organization of the event.
Every committee member also serves on a subcommittee. Due to my skills and interests, I am a part of the Communications Subcommittee, responsible for creating a marking plan for social media, emails, printed materials and more.
This year, the committee and local CHS office are changing the name of the event from Wish Upon a Star to simply, “Wish,” to better fit the event. This update requires a new logo and tagline for the event to set a new, clear vision for the event after the success of last year’s. I am working with both the committee and CHS office on the creation of this logo to provide a new look for the event while following CHS’s brand guidelines. We also want to highlight that this is the 10th annual event, while still creating a logo that can last over time.
Chef’s Table
I was contacted to design a program and poster that is consistent with the brand guidelines for the Chef’s Dinner event under a quick deadline. This was the last annual Chef’s Dinner for CHS. Key residents of Tallahassee attended this event to raise money for Tallahassee’s children and families in need.

I also designed thank you letters that were distributed to the sponsors and attendees of the Chef’s Table Charity Event. I worked with CHS to bring their design idea to life while sticking to brand guidelines. This resulted in a unique and playful thank you postcard.
